The Daoist Tai Chi symbol of Yin and Yang interplay
Tai Chi is a common abbreviation for Tai Chi Chaun or Tai Chi fist (boxing). A martial art based on the Yin and Yang philosophy.
Note that in modern Chinese writing the spelling is Tai Ji Quan, often written as Taijiquan.
In most modern styles of the art the martial side has been reduced to enable more people to enjoy the health benefit derived from the exercises. |
